Meadowsweet is large bulbous perennial plant, which is grown in garden plots, gardens and city parks on herbaceous borders or flower beds. This perennial is quite large (its height can vary from 30 centimeters to 2 meters), has straight stems, weakly leafy with feathery leaves. Meadowsweet blooms with small white or cream flowers (meadowsweet in the photo) collected in large inflorescences, from early summer to mid-September. All species of this plant are honey plants, and at the end of flowering they produce multi-nut fruits.
This plant has quite a lot of varieties and species, of which the most common is common meadowsweet, which also known as groundnut or meadowsweet. This variety is characterized by the formation of dense thickets and extremely poor flowering, so it is rarely found in cultivated flower beds and areas and grows mainly in abandoned areas of parks. No less common is meadowsweet (meadowsweet in the photo), which, unlike the previous variety, has a rather pleasant appearance. The flowers of this plant variety are pale yellow in color and have a pleasant aroma, and the stems are densely covered with feathery dark green leaves.
One of the most beautiful types of meadowsweet is the red Venusta, which has a fairly impressive size (usually reaching about one and a half to two meters in height) and blooms in mid-late summer small pale pink flowers, which are collected in large dense inflorescences.
