Is it possible to water flowers with water from an aquarium?
I heard somewhere that aquarium water is good for flowers. Is this really true? There’s just an aquarium in the office, and we still do a partial water change once a week. I think maybe we shouldn’t just throw it out?
I think nothing bad will happen. Settled water with microorganisms. My friend has an aquarium and she waters it often. He says that the flowers have begun to bloom well, especially the violets.
Of course it is possible, even necessary. Aquarium water is rich in various microelements, provided you have algae growing there. But even if they are not there, this water will be better than the one that flows directly from the tap, since it has settled and harmful compounds have evaporated from it.
I always water it with aquarium water, why are you so rude about it... This water is very beneficial for the plants! When I completely change the water in the aquarium, I pour all the last water (with fish waste) into flowerpots; organic matter, in my opinion, is an excellent fertilizer!
I agree that it will be a good fertilizer.
And no one seems to bother here... just discussing the topic.
I don't think you can harm the flowers this way.The most important thing is not to water the flowers with water that has been purified through a filter.
I also agree that water from an aquarium is good for irrigation, but only if it has not “bloomed”, because such water can only cause harm.
Why bother? Go ahead and plant your precious flowers in the aquarium, then you won’t even have to think about watering. This is the first time I’ve heard such a crazy idea about watering; I don’t even know what to compare such an innovation with. Except with idiocy. May the author of the topic forgive me.
Why is this a crazy idea? Aquarium water is often used to water plants. Flowers grow better this way. But I don’t advise you to neglect the rules of watering and not to overwater indoor plants, otherwise chlorosis will begin in them.
Something so rude is idiotic. I water all the flowers at work with water from the aquarium when it’s time to clean it, so as not to carry this water through a long corridor and pour it into the toilet. And the flowers are a sight to behold. True, we most often carry out this procedure on Friday evening, before leaving work - so that the smell disappears.
I know that the proximity of an aquarium and indoor plants in the same room has a beneficial effect on the latter. An aquarium, or rather the water that is in it, allows you to create the necessary humidity in the room, which is very necessary for many plants. But I’ve never heard of using this water to water it. Although I suspect that it is quite possible. This water most likely contains many useful substances dissolved.
Of course, you can also water it with aquarium water, as they wrote here, unless it has bloomed. Houseplants need to be watered with settled water, but the aquarium contains just such water. Why can't you water with filtered water?
I have a friend who waters it all the time. You just need to look, if anyone has sea fish, then the water should be salty. And salty plants should not be watered.
I’ve never watered from an aquarium and I don’t think it’s worth it; after all, fish food and their waste float there. Why do flowers need this?
Sometimes I water it with water from the aquarium, especially when there is no settled water. I read about it and I can say that there will definitely be no harm. Flowers benefit from the flora that forms there as a result of the vital activity of fish.
This water is very useful. There is no chlorine in it, it is at room temperature and, most importantly, there are tiny microorganisms that provide food for plants. After such water, you won’t even need different fertilizers. Aquarium water is a little similar to river water, but previously the best water for irrigation was river water.
