Problems with decorative roses
I was recently given a rose in a pot. She seems to be growing, everything is fine, but some small midges have formed around her and are constantly flying around her. What are these midges and how to get rid of them?

Most likely your poor rose has aphids. I advise you to wash the leaves either with any dishwashing detergent or with laundry soap. And also try to adjust the watering, otherwise maybe you have a swamp there?
I also had a problem with my home rose. At first it grew well and even bloomed a couple of times with delicate pink flowers, but then the leaves began to dry out and have not bloomed for over a year. I water it, I try to make sure the soil is not dry.
They say that when the leaves on a rose dry up and it doesn’t bloom, you need to replant it and slightly rejuvenate it.
Try washing it and treating it with a special solution against aphids, and of course move it to another sunny place, just not in the corner of the apartment.
My husband also gave me a homemade rose when I didn’t understand flowers at all. As a result, it withered... I think this was due to the presence of drafts and the lack of fertilizing. In general, the flower is very capricious.
This is similar to the symptoms of spider mites. You need to treat the rose leaves on both sides with preparations such as Agrovertin or Neoron. And then repeat the procedure a week later.
