The most unpretentious variety of petunia

I want to plant petunia. Recommend its most unpretentious variety... Otherwise, the variety of these hybrids just makes my head spin.

I love “Snow Globe” - the white flowers look very tender and cute, and the petunia is completely unpretentious in the garden - the main thing is not to forget about watering!

Just this year I grew petunia seedlings Snow Globe, but there’s just one catch. All the other petunias are already blooming, but this one is just growing foliage. This is the first time I’ve come across something like this, so that petunia doesn’t bloom. I don’t even understand what could be the matter.

Maybe the seedlings were initially not of very good quality and now the plant is growing green mass in order to bloom profusely later. Don’t worry, petunia cannot help but bloom in open ground, you just need to give it time to do so.

On the contrary, it seems to me that petunia is one of the most unpretentious plants, especially after planting it in the ground. And if you propagate it by cuttings, then there will be no problems with seeds and their cultivation, and besides, the varieties will always be your favorite ones.

I agree with you, it is better to propagate petunia by cuttings, since growing seedlings from its small seeds is quite problematic. And the most unpretentious varieties, in my opinion, are petunia “Coral foam”, “Dolce limoncello” and other similar ones.

I plant petunia on my balcony in a plastic container. I always admire from the street how my balcony compares favorably with the neighbors. Just like a blooming flowerbed on a high-rise.

If I'm not mistaken, my variety is called ampelous petunia - there are no special problems.

Choose any variety and plant it either in the garden or in pots on the balcony. They are very unpretentious. Since I love a variety of flowers, I plant several types side by side.

Buy seeds in granules, then there will be no problems with growing seedlings. For flowerpots, it is better to use an ampelous multi-flowered one (the word “cascade” is usually found in the names). For a flowerbed, it is better to choose a low-growing, large-flowered variety, for example, the Mamba variety. I don’t recommend terry varieties, they quickly stretch out, and after a month of flowering, such petunias turn into unsightly sticks.

The simpler and more common the flower itself, the more unpretentious the petunia variety. My “simple ones” even grew by self-sowing.

Much depends on the quality of the seeds, the integrity of the manufacturer, and on the region in which you live, its climate and soil. It’s best to pay attention to what kind of petunias your friends are planting; if you don’t know any gardeners, just look at the flower beds in your city. Of course, it’s easy to get lost among all the variety, but if you decide on what you would like to get in the end, it will be easier to choose. There are many videos on the Internet on growing petunias and choosing seeds. I recently also asked myself this question, I found an interesting video where the topic of choosing seeds is revealed.

I really love petunia. But the varietal variety only has to be grown through seedlings, and then it is only one year old. And here we have a simple carrion growing, a simple petunia. So you don’t need to specially grow it and cherish the seedlings, it’s not so whimsical. It blooms all summer and smells very nice))
