Pepper care

I planted pepper seedlings in the ground, but they don’t grow at all and even begin to turn yellow, although color appears on the pepper. Maybe the plants need some special care, which they lack. We water it as needed.

What time of day is watering carried out? If you do this in the afternoon during the midday heat, then I am not surprised that the leaves turn yellow. It is better to water in the morning, and even better in the evening, when the sun has already hidden. Then water will not evaporate from the leaves under the influence of aggressive sunlight.

Wow, I didn’t even know this rule; I often watered it during the day during the heat. On many vegetables, my leaves turn yellow and some spots appear on them, on peppers, on cucumbers. I will know that it is better to water in the evening.

How can you not know this? Any gardener knows this. Even houseplants located on windowsills are watered either in the morning or in the evening. In winter in the morning, in summer in the evening. And on a full moon, it is especially necessary to water the plants, no matter where.

Pepper should be watered every 2 - 3 days, always at the root, in the morning or evening, the water should have a temperature of 22 - 23 degrees. In a greenhouse, watering may be even less frequent.

Perhaps your seedlings are standing on a window where the sun is constantly shining and therefore the ground is just steaming, try moving the seedlings to another place and watering them in another place.

There is a rule that, in principle, plants in summer should not be watered in the morning or afternoon, when the sun is at its zenith. You can simply destroy all your crops. Watering is done in the evening, and it is necessary to check the soil moisture.

You must remember that pepper is a heat-loving plant, so it is afraid of any drafts, especially immediately after transplantation. Well, it’s also very important to water correctly.

Maybe your pepper is sick while it takes root in a new place. This happens to him sometimes. Try feeding it with a little chemical or organic matter. It is very responsive to fertilizers.

When I plant seedlings in open ground, I always cover them with homemade mini-greenhouses made from 5-liter plastic bottles. Then I gradually remove the bottles, but the seating arrangement has already taken root.

I always plant peppers with seeds in special peat cups around February-March; by May, excellent seedlings are ready for transplanting. So, it seems to me that the bushes grow stronger and are more resistant to weather changes. I definitely use fertilizers.

We also plant peppers in the ground with seeds or seedlings. It always grows, but the seedlings get a little sick, and then they are well received. We water the peppers with warm water; we heat it in a large container in the garden.
