Is it true that it is undesirable to water tomatoes often?

They say that tomatoes that are frequently watered turn out large, but not tasty, and those that are not watered so actively grow sweet.

Much depends on the climate of the area where you grow, the weather, and so on. If you don't water them often in hot weather, they will simply burn. And I don’t think there is a dependence on taste on the frequency of watering.

You need to not just water, but fill the holes around the tomatoes so that the soil is soaked deeply. Then 2 times a week will be enough even in the summer heat. A sign that tomatoes need watering is when the leaves curl. If this is not the case, then they do not need additional watering.

In our climate, there is no need to water tomatoes at all; they grow delicious. But if the soil is excessively waterlogged, tomatoes will crack severely. And one more thing - the taste of the fruit greatly depends on the variety; there are also watery varieties with a characteristic sourness.
