I grew cucumbers in a pot on the windowsill. Self-pollinating. The leaves are fine, the vines are on the net, there are a lot of flowers. But here's the problem. This means that the ovary grows (a 3-centimeter cucumber) and after a while the pimples, and then the ovary itself, turn black and dry out.
And so all the time. We managed to remove only 1 (!) normal cucumber.
What kind of trouble is this? I really want to grow cucumbers at home :-(
What is wrong with them? I’ve already started to brush over the flowers, but to no avail.

Maybe they just don't have enough food from the soil? try putting a bunch of dry grass and watering it, as it rots it will nourish the soil under your cucumbers!

I advise you to try the drug Borogum and Gumi Omi cucumber. The problem should go away.

Cucumbers on the loggia: the secret of abundant ovaries

The other day a friend called me and said: “I want to thank you for the advice to water the cucumbers with Gumi-Omi.” Of course, I wanted to look at his cucumbers, which he grows in a deep box on the loggia. The desire to grow cucumbers on the loggia arose due to the remoteness of the garden, and, as you know, cucumber is a moisture-loving crop, and one would have to travel outside the city several times a week.In an artificial environment, unnatural growing conditions are usually created for plants - low air humidity, a limited supply of nutrients, one-way lighting, the absence of earthworms and much more, in a word - stress. So it was not gastronomic, but scientific interest that drove me.
The vines of cucumbers on the loggia delighted the eye with the lush green leaves, abundant flowers and cucumbers growing from the ovaries. But this was not always the case: at first all the ovaries fell off, and there were 3 times fewer ovaries themselves! There is a lack of boron, so I advised using Borogum or another boron-containing drug. As a result, the friend opted for Gumi-Omi Cucumber, zucchini, melons, judging sensibly that his plants in an apartment require other nutritional elements, which are balanced in this preparation in the required proportions. He started watering his cucumbers with Gumi-Omi solution 2 times a week, and they immediately responded to this feeding. Now 9 cucumbers grow from 10 ovaries, and a friend picks 7-10 fresh and fragrant fruits in one harvest.

I had the same problem last year. There were a lot of flowers, cucumbers appeared, but for some reason they disappeared. I watered the cucumbers on the windowsill every day and fertilized them with liquid houseplant fertilizer.After consulting with experts, who said that such fertilizers will contribute to the appearance of barren flowers, and that excessive watering can only do harm. I transplanted the cucumbers into the ground, and out of three, one took root. I watered them every other day and fertilized them with nitroammophos. There were cucumbers.

Or maybe your cucumbers have caught some kind of fungus or infection? after all, a room is not an area on the street, where, let’s say, there is a draft all the time. Maybe they feel stuffy and that’s why they die?

If they turn black, then most likely there is some kind of disease. From lack of nutrition, it was more likely that the plant itself was dead or the flowers fell off.

I had the same story - only one or two cucumbers grew. It turned out that they did not have enough soil, and therefore not enough food.I planted a ten-liter container in a basin and was then able to get a larger quantity.

But it seems to me that the problem is in the purchased soil. Its quality is not so great, you need to take ordinary soil. And only then fertilize it as necessary. I grew cucumbers like this, Zozulya. It was an excellent harvest.

The temperature regime is also important here, and if it is very hot or cold, then this is a problem. And further. The temperature outside varies depending on day/night. In a city apartment, the temperature is practically the same day and night.

What kind of window sill should it be so that cucumbers can be grown on it? For them, no matter how you look at them, they still need space; the leaves should have plenty of sun. Such conditions cannot be created on the windowsill. Hence the problems with cultivation.

Yes, they all grow normally in such conditions, but in order to have less barren flowers, cucumbers need to be fertilized with nitroamooska. I was the only one of these cucumbers, I moved it from the room to the garden, into open ground, and only then did I see the cucumbers.

It's not really about fertilizers. The cucumber still comes from the tropics, so for comfortable growth and fruiting it needs high air humidity.
I tried several times to grow cucumbers on the windowsill in my apartment and nothing worked. The fruits set and then dry out.
At work, in a small closet 2x2 meters, without windows, under one DNAT-250 lamp, in a couple of months I harvested more than 5 kg from 4 bushes. I planted the same seeds as at home. Humidity was maintained at 70% using a humidifier. Without him nothing would have happened.
