Spathiphyllum turns yellow

There is a flower growing on my window called spathiphyllum. It blooms periodically, but now for some reason it turns yellow and dies. Could this be due to the fact that it has not been transplanted for a long time? How to save a plant?

This plant is also called “women’s happiness.” It can turn yellow and hurt because its roots are sick. You need to replant it urgently, because the branches may die. Replace the soil and treat the roots with an appropriate preparation or at least a slightly pink solution of manganese.

Do you have an adult flower? There is simply such a thing as shedding old leaves and giving a flower new life. My friend had this. She kept getting upset that the flower was slowly dying. I decided to dig it up, looked at the root system - it was all perfect, without diseases, and I saw a small shoot there. It turns out the leaves just got old. She washed the roots, changed the soil, cut off almost all the yellow leaves and added one that was just starting to turn yellow. And she put a new flower on the balcony. Everything is fine.

I also think that the flower requires replanting and also, it really loves free space in the pot. He needs it to be a little cramped, then he grows and blooms well.

I think that if the author replanted the flower recently, then she saw the state of the plant’s root system. If everything is fine with it, then just cut off the yellow leaves. As a rule, new ones should appear soon.

And spathiphyllum, as I noticed, can simply grow old. Then the plant in the pot will have to be renewed. Throw out the old and plant the new. Nothing is eternal under the Moon.

“Women’s happiness” has also been growing for me for several years. Any flower probably needs to be replanted once a year and the soil replaced with a new one. So transplantation is the first order of business now. This flower also does not like bright sun; it is better to place it in the shade. My leaves turned yellow precisely because I was standing on the sunny side. The plant also loves high humidity. It is necessary to spray more often and water well.

I would not disturb the flower and replant it now. You should try moving it to a less sunny place and creating humidity in the air, for example, placing a container of water next to it. You can simply carefully separate part of the flower and plant it in another pot.

Usually, in such cases, when I assume that a flower may die, I separate a good seedling or sprout from it and plant it. In case the main plant dies. The leaves turn yellow and dry out due to excess sun and dry air.

This flower does not like frequent replanting, as has already been written here; on the contrary, it is better for it when the pot is “crowded”. Leaves may turn yellow after heavy flowering. when the plant is "tired". Or if you put it in too bright light.

In our apartment, this flower stands on the east side on the kitchen window sill, but on the south it also dries constantly. Try to place it so that the “early” sun falls on it.

My spathiphyllum grows on a windowsill, mostly in the shade, the sun is only a couple of hours at sunset and not very strong. I took a cutting at a hotel, there were pots on the stairs, in the shade and the leaves were dark green, but my plant’s were light. Is this normal or is it lacking nutrients?
