Kobeya
This is the second time I’ve planted this beautiful vine and haven’t gotten any germination. What could be the reason? The first time I wanted to grow it through seedlings, the seeds did not germinate. The second time I sowed it in the ground. Again, I wait and nothing comes up.
A very beautiful flower, but to be honest, I have never seen anything like it. But as for the fact that it doesn’t sprout, I can say that you got low-quality seed material.
I grew this flower at home. I bought two colors, white and purple, as in the photo. There were only 6 seeds in the box, and in April I started germinating them on a saucer. Then I planted them in cups, and a total of 4 grew. But we were pleased with the flowering until late autumn.
I've heard about such a plant, but I haven't encountered any problems with it. Perhaps the seeds are really damp or spoiled? Try a different variety...Or a different planting location.
Kobeya is a capricious vine, it needs to be planted here somewhere in February for seedlings, and be sure to soak the seed and wash off the sticky film that appears on it several times, it is advisable to add a seed stimulator to the water. Then take fine sandpaper and gently rub the seed to make the peel less hard and thick and plant it in the ground in a small peat pot, which you place near a light source. The sprout may take a month to appear, so be patient and don’t forget to water.
I tried to germinate this whim “in a diaper” only after a week - I unwrapped it, cleaned the slightly swollen seeds from the sticky mucus and wrapped it again. The sprouts appeared much faster this way than in the ground.
And we have never had any problems with this bindweed. I sow the seeds in a balcony pot. and that's all. They grow on their own - I just water them. I planted this flower one year, and then it grew for me the next year - the seeds were sown and sprouted.
A beautiful creeping plant, I had a similar problem with it, only in the third year I was able to grow this beauty, but only with seedlings. There is also one problem with kobeya - the seeds do not have time to ripen, has anyone encountered this, how do you get out of the situation?
