Heather
Creating bright flower beds and alpine slides is possible by using a wide variety of flowering and non-flowering plants. Heather flowers will be a beautiful decoration for any flower bed, and their owners will delight with their beauty from the middle to the very end of summer. The plant loves slightly acidic soils. In the absence of a sufficient level of acidity, seed germination will be poor, as will the growth of the plant itself.
When grown, heather is very demanding on soil. In addition to acidity, good drainage and the absence of moisture stagnation are very important. The plant feels good in a sunny place with neighbors in the form of small bushes that will create weak shading. But even if the most favorable conditions are provided, heather will grow slowly: 2 cm per year. The total lifespan of the flower will be at least 30 years.
If you want to buy heather and then immediately plant it in the ground, do not forget about mulching, which is done in a garden using wood shavings and peat. This way, you will save the soil from overheating, drying out and the appearance of weeds.
