Physalis
Ground cherry, strawberry tomato - all these are names of one, well-known physalis plant. Luxurious orange “cases” cover yellow fruits, very reminiscent in appearance of tomatoes. The fruits of some varieties can also be used for edible purposes, and the harvest, collected in an unripe form, is well stored throughout the cold season.
If you follow the care rules given in this section, you can get up to 2-3 kg of fruit from one bush. There are only two edible forms: strawberry physalis and vegetable. Despite its similarity to tomatoes, physalis is more resistant to frost, drought and lack of light.
The soil for growing the plant can be any, but high acidity, stagnation of moisture and salinity are unacceptable. The best option is heavy, fertile soil that will provide good yields. The cold resistance of the culture allows Physalis to be grown even in Siberian conditions.
