Aquilegia

Herbaceous perennials with beautiful flowers can easily decorate any garden without requiring special care. That is why aquilegia is often used to decorate gardens and vegetable gardens. Its varietal diversity is very large and numbers about 120 species.

The foliage has a rich green color and an interesting trisyllabic shape. Thanks to this, even in the absence of flowers, the plant looks very beautiful. Be sure to pay attention to what kind of aquilegia photo it has. Exquisitely shaped flowers with double perianth appear in June and July. Using a simple technique, you can slightly extend the flowering period. To do this, fading flowers are cut off without waiting for the formation of seed pods.

To obtain seedlings, aquilegia seeds are sown in March in greenhouses or indoor boxes. Caring for the plant begins in early spring: carefully remove dried stems and leaves, apply fertilizer. When the flowering period is over, trim the stem and leave only the leaves. To obtain seeds, the flowers are not cut, but placed in a gauze bag. You can collect seeds in August. September is the time to divide and plant aquilegia.
