It seems to me that we are confusing the flowers Decembrist - Schlumbergera Hedgehog - and the Christmas Star - Poinsettia. If so, then they are completely different plants.

It’s blooming for me now, in November. The Decembrist does not like moving; it is better for him to be in one place. It loves to be sprayed, but it is important not to overwater it. It's on my south window. Like many flowers, flowering can be caused by cold shock, that is, sometimes you can take it out onto the balcony for a short time.

My daughter’s birthday is in December and I planted this flower, one might say, in honor of this day, so that she would delight with flowers. But the gift did not work out: the flower is 10 years old, during which time it has not bloomed even once. There were attempts, 1-2 buds appeared, which fell off without opening. The flower is very picky about temperature; it needs cold, but in our house it’s always hot, 25-27 degrees.

Decembrist should bloom in December, as its name suggests. At the end of October-November, I stress my Decembrists - I remove them from the window to a darker and cooler place, reduce watering, and at the end of November I put them in a bright window and begin to water them abundantly, then buds form and they begin to bloom.

My Decembris blooms differently, I don’t know what it depends on, approximately December-January. I don’t create special conditions for it, it’s on the north window, my house is really not hot and quite humid. Obviously, these are the conditions he needs.
