Orchids
Amazingly beautiful flowers. I like their various colors and dream of having at least a couple at home. I always thought they bloomed poorly at home, but it turns out they bloom just fine. Sometimes I pass by and look out the windows on the first floors. The beauties are standing, the entire window sill is covered. Who has orchids? Is it difficult to care for to maintain their beauty?
Orchids require a lot of time and even more patience from their owners. I can only briefly describe to you a little what you will need to do.
1. The air temperature should be no higher than 22 and no lower than 15 degrees.
2. Orchids love humidity, so the leaves should be sprayed at least once a day, but more often.
3. The light needs to be bright, but diffused.
4. In winter, the light needs to be enhanced with backlighting.
I’m reading your instructions, but I’ll be honest that I didn’t do this in winter and didn’t over-moisten the soil, but nevertheless my orchid produced more shoots this year and bloomed for a very long time.
The first 3 points are fine, but about the backlight. I’ve seen many flowers grow beautifully without additional lighting. Does it matter which side the windows face?
I wouldn't say that caring for orchids is difficult. I don’t give them any illumination, I just move them after flowering to a fairly dark room to give them a period of rest and don’t water them, but put them in a container with water so that the plant “gets drunk” and that’s it.
There are simply charming varieties of orchids. They bloom for a very long time with proper care. They cannot be watered from above.I agree that they should drink for about half an hour while standing in the water.
I also really like orchids. Once they gave me one, but unfortunately, after living with me for no more than six months, it rotted. It seems that the watering was moderate. I don’t even know what was wrong, only now I’m afraid to start this beauty, in case I ruin her again.
I have an orchid at home - it has bloomed at the moment. All that remains is the stem and the leaves, which continue to grow.. Now I don’t know what to do with this orchid. Maybe someone knows how to make it bloom?
