My parents planted shadberry on the property more than 10 years ago. This shrub tree grew 4 meters in height and occupied a huge area of the site with its spreading branches and shoots. I want to cut it and shape it. Is it possible to prune such a huge mature tree-shrub and to what height can it be pruned?
Is your shadberry so tall? But I have only 2.5 meters, several stems like a bush, and it is already 15 years old. It bears fruit profusely, the branches bend in an arc. To preserve the harvest, I put a fishing net on top to keep the sparrows away.
But we ourselves peck and feed the birds, we just can’t collect everything. Our irga is higher than five meters.
I have another question: can shadberry be propagated by shoots? The shoots are too close to the root.
I also have one misunderstanding about shadberry. Why did it start to dry out and wither after pruning? The game is still young, I thought that it was possible to trim and give it a beautiful shape, but it turned out the other way around.
