House Rat
My daughter asks me to buy her a white rat. I’m taking my time, not buying, I have some kind of prejudice against these animals as pets. Tell me whether it is worth getting such a pet and how to acquire it correctly so that there are no problems, I mean any kind of infection.
We once had a white rat. The smell of spruce can be heard, but it is there. If you come across a clean rat, there will be no problems. Therefore, it is better to buy a very small animal.
How to let her out of the cage? Couldn't she hide somewhere and run away? We also have a cat at home. Although she’s not a mousetrap, will her hunting instinct suddenly awaken?
Start it up. Very smart animals, even easy to train. You just have to carry the little rat in your hands so that it is tame. I love rats too. Meat and sweets should not be given.
We had a rat, we thought it was a rat... but it turned out to be a rat, and for some reason the presence of lostoinstvo did not bother us))) There was Jill, but he became Gillette, Messrs. Dearest creature, start it, just make sure it doesn’t run away. Lost with us... very sorry, the child was upset
Don't be afraid of infection, domestic rats are not basement dwellers. There is a special decorative breed. The main thing is to take a larger cage and don’t skimp on sawdust. Pets have one big disadvantage: rats only live for a year and a half.
White rats are simply charming.Get rid of all your prejudices and give your child such joy. Buy a rat from a specialized pet store, and don’t be afraid of any infection!))
I lived with two white rats, and every day you feel positive when you look at them. Caring for them is simple, and they definitely won’t cause infection, especially if purchased at a specialty store. It’s just a pity that you can’t let them out to walk around the house - they can chew on wires and things, or even run away.
First, evaluate your care capabilities; you need to clean your rat’s house at least once every two days, otherwise there will be an unpleasant smell. And if you take them in your hands all the time, if you don’t get used to them, they can bite, and their teeth are quite sharp.
I wouldn’t buy a rat for a child; it’s better to get a kitten.
The domestic rat is the cutest and smartest creature! We had a Russian blue rat, soft gray in color, from a distance it looked very similar to an ordinary rat, sometimes some guests got scared :) To be honest, the only thing I don’t like about rats is that they have a very short life, only a year 2-3 :(. That’s why we don’t get a rat anymore, it’s very sad when pets die...
It is better to buy a gerbil or a Chilean degu squirrel. They have no smell at all, live much longer, and are just as affectionate and tame. And they differ from rats only in their bushy tails.
