It's probably best to wait until they grow up and fall off on their own. Well, if you can’t wait, then try breaking them off from the main plant. then just dry it for two days and only then plant it in moist soil. This way the kids won't rot.

You tear it off, but it’s better to use rotational movements carefully, you can wear mittens so as not to prick your fingers, and you get the baby. There is no need to put it in water, just plant it in slightly moistened soil. There is no need to cover the top either. Cacti take root easily.

After planting and a little watering, we always cover the cactus with a plastic cup; it takes root better this way. You cannot take the cactus with your hand without gloves, because the needles are thin and it is not so easy to remove them from the skin.
