Physalis

I really want to try to plant physilis, but I just can’t bring myself to do it. They say it comes in different flavors. Who has already tried it? Are there any tricks to growing it?

This is actually the first time I’ve heard of such a vegetable or fruit; I don’t even know what it tastes like. I even had to go online to read what it was. Have you tried it yourself, is it really tasty or is it more for everyone?

Very tasty strawberry physalis. It is very small, but with a strong, characteristic strawberry flavor. Good for jam and for drying instead of raisins. And it makes raisins very sweet!

The fact of the matter is that physalis is mostly not for everyone. There are no special nuances in growing it, but its taste is very unusual. Some people make jam from it.

We grew fesalis. They barely got out. It grows and expands very well and sends out shoots on its own. But we used it as a flower, but did not eat it, although it is rich in useful substances.

By the way, yes. Physalis branches with bright lantern covers are dried for winter bouquets. But five, different varieties have different sizes and colors of these covers. And not everyone likes dried flowers in the house.

You really need to try it yourself, it has a rather unique taste. I have never seen anything like dessert served in restaurants (sweets). I planted the varieties Plum Jam and Sugar Raisin, both of which tasted like a cross between a green tomato and a persimmon...

The culture is heat-loving, it is better to grow through seedlings in the middle zone. He sowed them into the ground right away, they didn’t have time to ripen, he’s afraid of frost, he had to ripen the fruits at home, maybe that’s why they didn’t turn out sweet.
