Brussels sprouts: who has experience growing?

I love Brussels sprouts, and recently I started thinking that it would be healthier to eat those grown in my own garden. Maybe someone has a similar experience. Please share!

Brussels sprouts take a very long time to grow. Its ripening period is 170 – 180 days, subject to good watering. It is necessary to plant only seedlings, since it is very difficult to grow from seeds. We planted last year. The yield was average, but we took into account all the mistakes:

  1. it is worth planting at a distance of 50 cm from each other;
  2. You can’t darken cabbage, but it also doesn’t like heat above +25;
  3. water abundantly as the soil dries out;
  4. fertilizer only before planting;
  5. if there are a lot of rocks, the weak ones should be broken off.

How quickly do you draw conclusions? And while I’m getting big on something, I draw conclusions for several years. This is the first year I’ve planted Brussels sprouts, I’ll see what happens. I’m not very keen on cabbages at all.
