Acacia

We had two old acacia trees growing near our house; they were cut down last fall. The stump from one of them was uprooted with a special machine, but the chips scattered all over the lawn and now in the summer young acacia trees have sprouted. What's the best way to get rid of it so it doesn't grow again?

Acacia reproduces not by chips, but by seeds. Therefore, if you cut off all the young growth that appears with pruning shears, then new ones will definitely not appear next year. You just need to cut it right away, and not wait a year or two. Once the roots become stronger, it will be more difficult to get rid of the acacia.
