Bush cucumber

Most summer residents are accustomed to growing traditional cucumbers, the stems of which creep and branch up to two to three meters long. And some people don’t even realize that there is a bush cucumber, which belongs to bee-pollinated plants with a female type of flowering.

This type of cucumber has the shape of a bush, with the length of the main vine being about 60 centimeters and the side shoots being much smaller. A prerequisite for growing such cucumbers is open ground. This vegetable is ideal for growing in small areas, as the plant's bushy form and short vines make it easy to care for and also harvest.

Bush cucumber belongs to early varieties of cucumbers. The ripening period is about 48 days. The fruits are small, elongated, ovoid, dark green in color. The average length of green grass reaches 10 centimeters and weighs about 100 grams.

The bush-type plant is characterized by high productivity even in unfavorable weather conditions due to its resistance to various diseases, for example, olive spot, bacteriosis, and powdery mildew.

Pleasant to the taste, bush cucumbers are characterized by long-term storage without changing the color of the fruit. The small size of greens and excellent taste make their use universal. Cucumbers are suitable not only for fresh salads, but also for pickling or canning in small glass jars.

Due to its excellent characteristics, bush cucumber is of great interest to breeders. They are actively working on developing various varieties of bush-type cucumbers.
