Growing Exhibition onions using seeds

There are many varieties of onions. Some of them are used for long-term storage, while others, on the contrary, do not last long. One type of onion is good for salads, while the other is better for frying. Therefore, it is better to grow several types of onions at once on a personal plot. A popular variety is Exhibition, which is ideal for cooking. It does not last long, only about four months. The advantage is high yield. Growing Exhibition onions is possible using the seedling method or using seeds.
The seedling method is longer and more complex, so it is rarely used. But even an amateur gardener can handle the seeds. Since sowing should begin in April, you can start preparing the seeds at the end of February or beginning of March. They are easy to prepare. First you need to prepare a liquid paste and mix it with fertilizer. Then the mixture is applied using a syringe or other device onto toilet paper, previously cut lengthwise into three strips.
In order for the cultivation of Exhibition onions to be productive, drops of the mixture must be applied at a distance of five centimeters. Then you should carefully place the seed into these drops using tweezers, from which a bulb will grow in the future. Then we wait for the paste to dry and carefully roll up the resulting ribbons.
When the right time comes, the seeds should be planted in fertile soil to a depth of 1.5 cm.To make the onion large, do not tear off the feather for salads. Watering and weeding must be done regularly. The harvest should be harvested after approximately 130 days. Moreover, if you keep the onions in the ground, the bulbs will be unsuitable for storage. Knowing these features, growing Exhibition onions will be quite easy.
Comments
I planted this variety at the dacha and liked it, the fruits were large and even. True, in the fall, after harvesting, it was not stored for long; it had to be quickly processed into various salads.
