There are several varieties of this plant - Hamburg, Chinese, mallow-like, as well as a new variety that has recently appeared, capable of flowering soft primrose, but the most beloved and most frequently encountered was and remains the grandiflora primrose. It has rounded leaves growing on short petioles, forming a dense rosette. People who are prone to allergic diseases should grow this plant with caution, because its leaves can secrete a substance called primin, which causes skin itching when it comes in contact with them. When caring for the plant, such people need to take special care, because with direct contact with primrose leaves, the reaction may intensify.
This plant amazes with its splendor and beauty during the flowering period.It blooms with large buds (up to 6 mm in diameter) of a variety of colors, and more than 10 inflorescences with 25 flowers on each of them can be located on one bush.
You can purchase an already mature plant at any flower shop, or grow it yourself by purchasing seeds. Although the process of growing it yourself is quite long, it will take you at least 5-7 months for the plant to fully grow and begin to bloom.

To ensure a good and healthy appearance of your plant capable of flowering, you need to properly care for it and water it.
- The soil you need to grow your seeds should be a mixture of equal parts peat and sand. And to further ensure the flowering of primroses from autumn until April of next year, it is necessary to water from January to July with an interval of 3-4 weeks.
- To germinate, the seeds should not be buried in the soil; you just need to cover them with glass or cling film and periodically spray them, ensuring a greenhouse effect.
- By maintaining a temperature of 20-22 °C, you will see the result of your labors within two weeks.
- Young sprouts must be protected from direct exposure to sunlight, maintained moisture by spraying with a spray bottle and ensuring that they are at a temperature not lower than 19-20 ° C.
- Over time, it will be necessary to replant your seedlings several times into more nutritious soil. An already grown plant can be placed on a windowsill, making sure that it is not on the sunny side of your house.
- Several times a month it will need special feeding, which can be purchased at a flower shop.
There are several ways to propagate reverse conical primrose.
The most suitable of them is propagation by cuttings or dividing the bush.
But the option of propagation by so-called layering is also possible. This is done as follows: you need to cover the mother bush with moss, then wait until roots begin to appear on the shoots. After this, the cuttings need to be cut and planted in pots; this process can be carried out throughout the year.
In order to protect your plant from the appearance of parasites, you need to spray it regularly and ventilate the room well. In the summer, the inflorescences that appear on the primrose must be plucked out so that it gains strength and blooms well in the winter.
