Viola
Few people know that indoor violets are, in fact, not violets, but belong to a completely different family of flowers. In culture, violet or viola is used to decorate borders, flower beds and create mini-gardens. Depending on the species, the flowering period of violets varies greatly. If you want to enjoy beautiful flowers all season long, use tricolor and horned violets.
It is worth noting that viola flowers are quite picky. They love well-lit areas, but can also tolerate partial shade. The plant needs abundant watering, but the soil must be well-drained. It is better to use mineral fertilizers for feeding.
In order for viola seedlings to become stronger for summer flowering, the seeds are planted at the very beginning of spring in boxes, observing a temperature regime of at least 10 C. Early flowering of violets can also be achieved, for which the seeds are planted in open ground before the onset of winter. Viola is also perfect for planting in containers on balconies, which cannot but please city residents who do not have a summer cottage.
