Snowdrop
The onset of spring is associated with the swelling of buds, active birdsong and the first blooming flowers. Of course, we are talking about snowdrops that cover the thawed areas between the trees. Miniature and delicate snowdrop flowers may appear between December and April, depending on the region and how quickly the snow melts.
Breeders could not help but pay attention to these flowers, so in ornamental gardening there are two types of plants: Delicate snowdrop and Elwes snowdrop. The second name of the garden crop is galanthus. Obviously, galanthus bulbs spend most of their time dormant. Root growth begins in the fall, the bulbs themselves grow in the spring, after which flowers appear, and bulb growth occurs in the summer. Immediately after flowering, the leaves dry out and the plant goes into hibernation again.
Plant care is minimal; they do not even require pruning after the leaves begin to die: they must dry out on their own. But the snowdrop flower does not like replanting. Therefore, if necessary, it should be carried out in the spring before the foliage dies. To do this, dig up the bulb together with a lump of earth and replant it to a depth of 6 cm.
