Ixia

Ixia is rightfully considered one of the beautiful flower decorations of the garden. It refers to a crop that can be grown not only in the garden, but also as a houseplant. Its bright flowers have a brown or dark red core and reach 5 cm in diameter. Flowering continues from July until the end of August.

Despite its unpretentiousness, the Ixia flower will be most beautiful when growing on fertile soils, well protected from the wind. The plant loves direct sunlight and moisture, so it will require plenty of watering during growth. In warm regions, Ixia bulbs are left in the ground for the winter, while in cold regions they are dug up and stored in a cool place until spring.

In order for Ixia to please its owner with flowers in winter, it is planted in a pot in October. After flowering, the bulb is left in the ground for 30 days and then removed until spring planting.
