Peas

The beneficial properties of peas are evidenced by the fact that in terms of the amount of protein they are on par with meat. A significant advantage to this is that it is easier to digest.

There are 7 different types of peas, but two are most suitable for cultivation. The division into groups is as follows:

  • Hulling varieties, the beans of which have a parchment layer. Green peas are made from them.
  • Sugar or vegetable varieties, eaten whole with the pod. Very demanding and capricious when growing.

Peas are planted in early spring; ash is added when loosening the soil. The return of plants to their old place of growth is possible after 4 years. Sowing is carried out in several passes with a difference of 10 days.

When growing peas, it is important to maintain a moisture balance by watering at least once a week; during the flowering period, the soil should be consistently moist.

Planted pea varieties are distinguished by roundness and wrinkled (brain pea) grains. Brain beans produce high quality and very tasty peas.
