Since ancient times, people have used various spices and seasonings to give dishes a special aroma and taste. An excellent seasoning for meat, pickles, soups, etc. Basil is considered. A plant with fragrant leaves is grown in indoor and garden conditions. Growing begins with preparing seedlings. To do this, basil seeds are planted in prepared soil in a box at the beginning of April at home or in a greenhouse. After about two months, the seedlings are ready to be planted in the ground.
Planting can be carried out in the ground where vegetable crops previously grew, but only after applying a series of fertilizers. It is very important to maintain the distance between plants: basil seedlings are planted in a row at a distance of 20 cm, and between rows it should be at least half a meter. Basil is harvested during the flowering period. It is then dried or used for canning.
