Japonica

In the Rosaceae family there are plants that feel good both at home and in the garden. These include Japanese quince. Among the large number of varieties, the most popular in the latitudes of Russia are low and high Japanese quince. Low quince can withstand frost well due to its small height (about 1.5 m).

A very important condition for wintering quince is the presence of good snow cover, which will prevent the formation of ice on the branches. Otherwise, the plant will freeze. For propagation, you can use Japanese quince seeds, root shoots, cuttings or part of a bush. Planting is best done in the spring. To do this, fertilizers are placed at the bottom of the pit and covered with earth and humus on top, not forgetting to water it first.

It should be noted that Japanese quince requires classic care: loosening, weeding, watering and fertilizing. Old branches must be pruned. Read more about the rules of pruning and growing in this section of our website.
